logo_2.JPG                      What's that Logo all about?

I am sure by now many of our close friends, family and social media friends have seen a picture of a logo that we have had designed. We have been displaying the logo since we recently had it done along with a new business name, but other than that we have not said much about why or how it was designed. As my 2014 season is quickly approaching, it's about time to let everyone in on some of our plans for this season.  web_1.JPG

One bit at a time-my story

Posted by chris on January 20, 2014

bits2.pngThe 2014 season is getting closer and I have been posting updates about new sponsors and programs I have become part of for this season. Recently I posted how I became a member of the ENERGYbits team. I have been flooded with questions about the product, what it can do and how to purchase it. So I wanted to tell everyone why I became involved with the company and what it has done for me.

First and foremost, I am not a dietician or fitness trainer. The information I am providing to you is strictly things I have learned over the years as part of my attempts to stay fit with time limitations restricting my workout and diet routines.

The end of my 2013 fishing season has arrived as quick as it started. I have had the chance to reflect back on plenty of my accomplishments, failures and memories throughout the year. Looking back, I regret nothing and would-not have done anything different. I am thankful for everything that took place the good and bad, and I have slowly evolved to realize these life lessons only make me stronger and better each time I am hit with obstacles. I chose now to highlight the North Country and what St. Lawrence County has accomplished this year. The Bassmaster Elite Series in Waddington with no doubt topped my area of interest. A huge successful event that plenty of people feared it would be a bust. We proved that we have the fishing, the accommodations and hospitality to host an event of that caliber.

Froggin A!!

4.JPGMy favorite way to fish and some of the most exciting action you can see when fishing top water baits. The excitment of seing a huge bass chase and blow up on a frog will keep you addicted to chasing them through the thick stuff. This is a great video and article from Advanced Angler showing some exciting top water action.

From Advanced Angler.com

One of the most exciting ways to catch bass is on a topwater bait.  The aggression with which a bass eats a topwater bait can be enough to make a heart skip a beat.  On certain topwaters; like buzzbaits, frogs and toads, those strikes can be so aggressive they can cause full on cardiac arrest.

In this episode of Strike King Pro Team Journal Rewind, we visit with George Cochran as he takes a local Arkansas tournament angler and guide Jimmy Hill with him to an Arkansas oxbow lake for some Rage Toad action in a pad field.

The action is nonstop, and completely worth watching.

Fishing Behind The Lines

FISHING BEHIND THE LINES was a production the local well known TV angling host Don Meissner came up with in order to share his passion for fishing and giving back to the men and women in the military who sacrifice so much for all of us. I was fortunate enough to be part of that program and filming in the spring of 2012. I met Army Ranger SSG Joey Hernandez and Don at the launch at Lake Bonaparte during the end of May to target Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. Lake Bonaparte is one of the few lakes in our area which allows catch and release bass fishing when the season is not open.
